It’s been a long, long time!

Hey all!  It’s been a few years and we’ve been very busy here.  Mom was volunteering for a local no-kill shelter up until this past spring when she hurt her shoulder.  She had to quit when that happened.  Don’t worry, mom is o.k., the doctor did some minor surgery on it in September and she is almost back to normal now.  (whatever normal is!)

Things here are good.  I still sit pretty for mom when she asks me to even though I don’t have that hip joint in my left hip anymore.  I chase my sisters around the yard alot too!  They like to play with me, but I do get tired easily now.

I also fall down more often now.  My front leg seems to give out on me more often the older I get.  The vetman says I have arthritis real bad in it now.  I take glucosamine for it, but it only helps a little bit.  My leg bothers me more if it is cold or rainy here.  Mom got me a new bed with memory gel foam in it which I really like alot!  My favorite thing to do is nap!  My kitty brothers & sisters like to nap with me on the sofa too.

Here I am in my new vest mom had made for me.  My sister Anka is wearing a harness dress.

Still smiling as always.

Chuy is a 1 yr. old Chow/Newfie/Husky/Beagle mix. He has already lost his left frt. leg due to being hit by a car at 4 mos. old. We adopted him when he was 8 mos. old. He has now had FHO surgery on his left rear leg.

  1. Chuy’s momma… check out Tri-Acta !! My Maggie girl was on glucosamine as well and it only worked so so for her. But once she was on Tri-Acta (which has all sorts of other good stuff too), it was like she was a new doggie.. She’s almost 13 and has osteo-arthritis in her shoulders really bad.

Your vest look very dapper handsome boy!! and the dress is be uuuuuu tiful!!

  2. Chuy! Great to hear from you, and that you are still hopping along.
Tell your mom to ask the vetman about adequan injections. They are expensive but they have done wonders for my quad pug who has very bad arthritis.
And tell your mom not to be such a stranger!

  3. Chuy!! It’s been awhile!!! So great to hear from one of the “old-timers!!” Sorry to hear about your front leg, that’s rough. I don’t know if it will help, but tell your Mom to check into something called Synflex. It’s an arthritis supplement, and they have a formula for dogs that tastes like beef!! At least that’s what they say! We started giving it to Max way back in the day, and we’re now giving it to Linda and Bernie as a preventative supplement. Maybe it will work for you?? That, or I say just lay around and have everyone bring everything to you! 🙂 I mean, you are older, and I think you’ve earned a bit of “sitting around lazy”! Hahaha! Good to hear from you Chuy!! Hope you and your family have a great holiday!!!

  4. Chuuuuyyyyyy! It’s so pawesome to see you again! I”m glad to hear you are getting around pretty good and your Mom is all healed up. You know, you were the very first Tripawd we ever knew who had a rear leg surgery. Now, there’s more and more who need a procedure like the FHO that you had and when they come to us looking for hope, we send them to your story. So THANK YOU! It’s really cool you stopped by. Love you pup! Hoppy Howlidays to you and your pack!
